Tucked in the heart of Grand Marais, Roam & Whimsy Co.™ is a small-but-mighty gift shop filled with thoughtfully curated treasures for all ages.
Gift giving runs deep in my family. I come from a long line of women who have a knack for finding just the right thing - the unexpected little treasure that makes someone smile. Roam & Whimsy Co. is an homage to those women and the joy they’ve always found in giving.
Here, you’ll find unique finds, local art, clever little things, and plenty of treasures you didn’t know you needed, but suddenly can’t leave without! We intentionally keep things small, carefully choosing pieces that feel special, useful, beautiful, or simply fun.
And while you can browse just about anything online these days, we believe some things are worth experiencing in person. Roam & Whimsy is an in-person-only shop, by design. We want you to wander in, discover something unexpected, and experience a little of the magic that makes this place so special.
We’re also especially proud to partner with and source from fellow female artists, makers, and small businesses as much as we can!

Inciardi x R&W
Inciardi x R&W - Some collaborations just make sense.
Since June 2024, Roam & Whimsy Co.™ has been home to an Inciardi Mini Print Vending Machine, and we were lucky enough to be one of the first 8 hosts in the world. Today, there are 200+ machines around the globe, but ours is a little different...
Every print inside our machine is an original, custom-commissioned print created in collaboration with Ana Inciardi, just for our shop. From iconic landmarks to beloved local sights, these tiny works of art perfectly capture a little piece of the place we love most.
There’s something wonderfully nostalgic about putting your quarters in the machine, hearing that little clunk, and wondering which print you’ll get. Over time, our custom prints have become sought-after keepsakes and collector favorites for visitors from near and far.
For us, that’s the magic: a tiny surprise, affordable art, and a meaningful memento of your time here.
The Collective
A little bit of Roam & Whimsy, delivered to you while we’re away.
We’re big believers in keeping Roam & Whimsy Co. an in-person experience, and that’s not changing. But when our little shop closes for the long winter, we thought it would be fun to send a little whimsy your way.
Introducing The Roam & Whimsy Collective: tiny surprise parcels delivered monthly, thoughtfully curated around a new theme each month, and filled with some of our favorite things from the shop.
Every parcel includes a Roam & Whimsy Dispatch letter, one of our custom Inciardi x R&W Mini Prints, plus a treat, trinket, and treasure inspired by the month’s theme. The print sets the tone, and the rest is a little surprise waiting to be discovered.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Choose your subscription
Pick six months or three months of monthly surprise parcels.
2. We curate the magic
Each month, we’ll gather a new collection of art, treats, trinkets, treasures, and Roam & Whimsy Co. goodness all centered around that month’s theme.
3. Your parcel arrives
Your little package ships each month around the 15th, ready to be opened and enjoyed.
